Deployment
and alignment;
Tribal
Nations: Everliving, Inuit and Aztec: Everchanging
The Tribal
Nations rolled first pick and chose a wooded table edge for cover while their
Woodsmen ability would allow them to move quickly through that cover. The
Aztecs decided to get as far away from the better than avg Seneca archers and
set up on the opposite side of the table. Finally, the Inuit opted for a bit
more open terrain though this put them in danger of ranged attacks from both
sides.
Turn 1
Unit
Activation Dice (UAD), did not overly favor any one Force. Using Blessing
Movement shenanigans TN and Aztecs were able to reach the Garden. Only Aztecs
were able to search but this only angered the gods. The Bound Dead managed to
pass the -2 Brave Test and remained in place. Until the Inuit charged the unit
(after surviving a salvo from the Eagle Warriors and passing an Activation
test), killing one but also taking a wound in the offing. The units are now
locked in combat.
Inuit
archers fire on the Seneca archers doing no wounds but inflict a Brave Status
Marker (bsm). The Senecas test to fire back but fail and now sit with 2 BSM. 2
Markers were activated resulting in 2 beasts being summoned. The Aztec High
Priest and his unit killed one but took a casualty while the Inuit Master
inflicted a single wound on the other and remain locked in Combat.
Turn 2
UAD Slightly favored Inuit but nothing of consequence.
The Inuit Master and his team failed to wound the 2 Bound Dead with whom
they were locked in combat. However the remainder of the Bound Dead unit failed
their Activation test and could do nothing, losing their chance to search. The
Mohawk unit tha twas already in the Garden searched twice failing on both
attempts to find the Magic Herbs.
The TN Sachem unit made it into the Garden’s interior in commanding
fashion. But the Eagles Warriors advance and fire on the TN unit causing 2
wounds. Both saves are failed but the Sachem refutes one wound with Toughness.
Seneca archers having shed their BSMs due to a Blessing fire on the Inuit
archers slaying one of the hardy warriors. The Sachem unit gains a nod from the
Gods after activating a Marker gaining +1 to Brave and Fi through the next
turn. The remaining Beast is vanquished by the Unuit. Meanwhile the Aztec High
Priest fails his Brave Test with a 10 and remains unable to do anything.
The battlefield is a mosh pit!
Turn 3
UAD heavily
favored the Inuit.
The Tuvaak
Master activates first searching for the Herbs, initially failing then finally
finding the precious flora. 1 VP to the Inuit. Another Inuit unit charges the
Aztec High Priest team killing 2 Bound Dead but losing one of their own.
The Sachem
team, in an attempt to force the Master to flee charges the inuit but
tragically loses 2 while inflicting no damage. Despite the Sachem’s buffed
Barve status being a 10 he fails his Brave test and flees.
The Arvik
archers attempt to activate but fail and stand orderless with 2 pins. Meanwhile,
at the opposite end of the battlefield, the Eagle Warriors fire at the Inuit in
combat with their High Priest sending them to an icy grave.
In a bid to
once and for all end the Inuit Master’s hold on the Herbs the Mohawks charge in
but alas find only death as “Hardy” kept the mortally wounded Inuit fighting
on.
Turn 4
UAD slightly
favors Aztecs
First
Activation the Eagle Warriors fire on the Inuit Master failing to do any damage
but inflict another BSM. While the Inuit bowmen March into the garden in
anticipation of supporting their Leader. Noble, but to no successful end as the
Seneca Archers move up, then loose arrows hitting their marks. At least the
Arvik laid down their lives doing their duty.
The Sachem,
despite carrying 5 BSM passes his Stop Fleeing test and then successfully
regroups reducing his BSM count even further! The 2 Bound Dead still locked in
combat with the Inuit Master fail to wound him
and with the last Activation the Master kills, (or re-kills) another of
the Bound Dead.
He still
stubbornly holds on to his prize…
Turn 5
UAD favors
TN
The Sachem
is Blessed as 2 Mohawk Warriors return to fight by his side. The Seneca Archers Focus Fire at the Eagle
Warriors just within range killing one and inflicting a BSM.
Those same
Eagle Warriors fire two arrows at the still stuck- in Inuit Master failing to
wound but inflicting another BSM. Ther single remaining Bound Dead in combat
with the Master is Blessed with stalwart bravery and attacks the Inuit to no
avail.
In a
seemingly last resort the Aztec High Priest charges the Tuuvak Master doing no
wounds and taking none but wins combat simply by the BSM value. Beating all
odds the Master rolls a 1 for his Brave test and continues to hold firm!
Truly a
testament to the hardy character of the Inuit!
Turn 6
UAD favored
the Aztecs w/ the help of a Blessing to increase the value of one die.
In a bid to
force the Tuvaak Master to flee the Eagle Warriors charged into combat but
again the bulwark of a warrior stood fast! The TN Sachem team charged in as
well finally killing the Master while losing one of his newly resurrected
Mohawks. But in a cruel twist this gave the Aztec High Priest the opportunity
to pick up the pottery containing the magic Herbs. Which he hid away as he
moved away from the fray.
A D10 was
rolled for a 7th turn but the die landing on a 6 denied a prolonged
ending.
Aztecs 3VP,
Inuit 1VP, Tribal Nations 0VP.
